Before starting your application, please ensure that you have all supporting documentation ready!!
Where to apply:
All licenses in the State of New York are issued and managed by the Department of State, Division of Licensing Services, through their official website. You can access it by visiting and clicking on Licensing Services, or by going directly to .
Application process and fees:
- License Application Fee = $40
- Temporary License = $10
- State Board Exam = $15 each
Important note before applying:
On April 28, 2025, the Licensing website migrated to a new platform, now called New York Business Express (NYBE). This change has impacted the application process. Please follow carefully the instructions provided on our Application Tutorial, and don鈥檛 hesitate to reach out to your Career Services Advisor if you need further support.

Health Certification Form
1. Health Certification Form:
You must go to a physician and complete the physical exam required by the State. is the form that your doctor must fill out. This must be completed and signed by a physician BEFORE you apply for your license. Please do not begin your application until your doctor has filled out this form.
IMPORTANT: You must apply for your license within 30 days of your physical.

School Affirmation Letter
2. School Affirmation Letter:
Once students have completed all obligations required for graduation, the school will issue an Affirmation Letter confirming successful completion of the program. This letter is required to obtain a New York State license.
Please be sure to SAVE this letter for future reference, as it includes your curriculum code, which is essential for verifying your education, along with other important details.

IMPORTANT: The name on your Affirmation Letter will be the name that appears on your License. Please ensure it matches your State ID or Driver’s License exactly, including your middle name or middle initial.
Domestic Violence Training
3. Domestic Violence Training:
Watch the Domestic Violence Training requested by New York State. You will be asked to check a box to confirm you saw it. (There is no certificate after this training.)
