You should send your applications to the State Board ​within a week or two of graduation, once you pass your ​written ​state ​exam (P​rometric). The process to get your ​final ​NJ license can take as long as 4​-6​ months: 4-6 weeks to get your temporary permit and another 4-​6 weeks​, once you find employment, work a minimum of 30 days to process your EPL attestation​ & submit for final licensure*.​  (*At this time, the State Board of Cosmetology is not performing practical testing and an attestation model has been in effect since February 2021 due to COVID for final licensure.  If you have any questions, please contact the Career Services Dept. for more information: [email protected] or 973-575-1050 x539).​
